Crockpot cooking- Thankx to OP/mama2calli

We do a lot of whole chickens in our pot (I have a 6 qt which can fit about a 6 lb. chicken)... chicken pieces come out good too, you can layer them, cook them on low all day, then brown them up on the grill or in the oven later. I've also done small fryers then just cut up the meat for salads.

Spaghetti sauce is sooooo easy... normally we make meatballs & brown our sausages ahead of time (slice it up) and freeze them... these items can go right into the pot frozen and cook all day since they're already pre-cooked and not very dense/large. Add some crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, jarred sauce - whatever your prefer - plus spices, garlic powder, dried minced onion - just let it cook all day. You can pre-cook your pasta the night before (al dente is best), then just throw on a pot of warm water that night and splash it in for a minute or two.

Diced cooked steak and porkchops also flavor sauce well.We also love swedish meatballs - again we use our homemade frozen meatballs, plus a can or jar each of pork gravy, brown gravy with onions, and cream of mushroom soup. Before serving we stir in some sour cream and dill. You can serve it over egg noodles or eat them as is!
