CALDO-MEXICAN WARMER UPPER!

This is a delightful Mexican dish, different from chili or stew and very easy and cheap to make. It's great for cold winter days and, if you work outside the home, is a great meal to cook in the crockpot while you'reout.

You will need:
3 flank steaks
6 peeled potatoes
3 corn on the cob
2 zucchini
1 large onion
1 turnip
2 beef boullion cubes
1/4 cup fresh chopped celentro

Cut potatoes, corn on the cob, zucchini, onion and turnip in half.
Fill slow cooker about half way with warm water and add the boullion cubes.
Stir until dissolved. Add whole steaks and and halved vegetables.
Sprinkle with chopped celentro.
Cook for about 6 hours on low.
Eat as a soup or serve as a hot dish.

"Caldo" means "hot" in Spanish and this dish can be spiced up a little if you add a few jalapeno peppers. In the South, you can find boullion cubes specially made for Caldo.
